Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, uploading files, or using any DocConvert service, you confirm that:

• ✓ You are at least 16 years old (or have parental consent)
• ✓ You have the legal authority to enter into this agreement
• ✓ You will use the service in compliance with all applicable laws
• ✓ You have read and understood our Privacy Policy

2. Description of Services

DocConvert provides the following services:

• Document Conversion — Convert files between PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, and other formats
• Document Editing — Edit converted documents online via our browser-based editor
• AI Analysis — Summarize, extract data, translate, and chat with documents using AI
• PDF Tools — Merge, compress, protect, split, and manage PDF files
• OCR — Extract text from scanned documents and images
• API Access — Programmatic access to our conversion services (Pro/Business plans)

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

When creating an account, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account.

3.2 Account Security

You must immediately notify us at hrtech119@gmail.com of any unauthorized access or security breach. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized account use.

3.3 One Account Per User

Each individual may maintain only one free account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated accounts.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use DocConvert to:

• Upload, convert, or distribute illegal content, including copyrighted material you do not have rights to
• Upload malicious files, viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Engage in unauthorized scraping, crawling, or data harvesting
• Attempt to circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access restrictions
• Use the service for illegal activities, harassment, or abuse
• Share your account credentials or API keys with third parties
• Reverse-engineer or decompile our software
• Use automated scripts to exceed your plan's conversion limits

5. Plans, Pricing, and Payments

5.1 Free Plan

The Free plan allows up to 5 conversions per day and 20MB per file. These limits may be modified at our discretion with reasonable notice.

5.2 Paid Plans

Paid plans (Pro, Business) are billed monthly or yearly as described on our pricing page. Prices are displayed in your local currency based on your location. All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes.

5.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your paid plan at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We offer a 7-day refund policy for first-time subscribers who are unsatisfied. Contact us to request a refund.

6. File Handling and Data Retention

• Uploaded files are processed in a secure, isolated environment
• Converted files are available for download for 30 minutes then permanently deleted
• We do not read, analyze, or share the contents of your files (except when you explicitly use AI features)
• When using AI features, text content is sent to our AI provider (Gemini/Groq) for processing and is not retained by them beyond the request
• You retain all ownership rights to your uploaded documents and conversions

7. Intellectual Property

DocConvert and its content, features, and functionality are owned by HR-Tech and are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all files you upload. By using our service, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process your files solely for the purpose of providing the requested service.

Our blog allows user-contributed content. By posting to our blog, you grant HR-Tech a non-exclusive license to display and distribute your posts on our platform.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

DocConvert is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• 100% accuracy of converted documents
• Uninterrupted, error-free service availability
• Compatibility with all file versions and formats
• Results from AI-powered features

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HR-Tech shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of DocConvert.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may also delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon termination, all your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or the competent courts of Cameroon.
